Bhaskar Ram Viswanatham was born into a family of Chartered Accountants in
Rajahmundry his father Late Sri Viswanatham Atchutaramayya was also a Chartered
Accountant, who has 6 more brothers and 5 of them being Chartered Accountant. His
grandfather Late Sri VBR Sarma was also a Chartered Accountant and started the CA
firm, M/s Sarma& Co., in the early 1950s and was a firm of repute in the field of
Chartered Accountancy.
Bhaskar Ram had his early education in Rajahmundry and studied in BalaVignyana
Mandir English Medium School and belongs to the Class of 1981. He had his
education at Government Junior College Rajahmundry and studied Mathematics,
Commerce and Economics during 1981-1983, He enrolled for Chartered
Accountancy in the year 1984 and completed his CA at a very young age of about 20
years.
He later has done his Bachelor in Commerce from Andhra University after completing
his Chartered Accountancy and has also done his Master of Arts in Psychology from
AdikaviNannayya University by attending the course as a day scholar.
Bhaskar Ram V was selected as a Group Study Exchange member in 1994 and
represented RI District 3020, by visiting RI District 6070, in the USA comprising the
States of Missouri and Kansas. Joined the Rotary Club of Rajahmundry after
completing the Group Study Exchange programme in 1994. Served as the Director –
International Service from 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 and was elevated to the post of
President in the year 1997-1998 at a very young age and became a Paul Harris
Fellow.
Was instrumental in starting the Modern Hindu Crematorium in Kotilingala named
Kailasa Bhoomi and successfully completed the same with a total project outlay of Rs
46 lakhs the facility was thrown open to the public during 1997-1998 during his
presidency. The Project is the first of its kind in the history of Andhra Pradesh and
more particularly in Rotary and inspired many to start such Projects in their towns and
villages.
Had worked as the Chairman of the Conference Committee of the Rotary Conference in the year 1999 during the Governorship of RtnC.S.Venkata Rao and was
instrumental in conducting a successful District Conference with as many as 1250
delegates attending it.
Became a Major donor contributing to the Rotary Foundation in the year 2005-2006
and also created an Endowment fund in the name of Suchitra and Bhaskar Ram V
Endowment Fund in the year 2007-2008 and has been instrumental in contributing $
50000 to TRF. Became the First Arch Klumph Society Member in the RI District 3020
contributing $ 250000 to TRF in the year 2016-2017.
Attended many Rotary International Conventions including the Centennial
Convention in Chicago in the year 2005 and represented the Rotary Club of
Rajahmundry River City along with two other members. Also attended the Rotary
International Convention in Bangkok in 2012, of the then RI President Rtn Kalyan
Banerjee. And attended the District Assembly conducted there by the then District
Governor, Rtn Ch Surya Rao.
Involved himself very closely with many Global Grant Projects and worked in
Partnership with the Rotary Club of Tamworth and the Rotary Club of Asbury, United
Kingdom as International sponsors and completed the Projects successfully. And he
had also involved with many Service Projects at the Rotary Club of Rajahmundry River
City. Chaired many Rotary Foundation District Seminars during 2016-2017 and also
during 2019-2020.
Has actively participated in the Food Supply Project of the Rotary during the Covid19 lockdown by supplying about 4000 packets of Food to the Government for about
45 days continuously. This was the food that was served to all the stranded students,
migrant workers, poor people and Daily wage earners.
